Natural DIY Skincare Secrets from the Orient:

  • Looking for a Far East inspired way to care for your skin Naturally? … ok, here are a few tips we have pulled together using commonly found kitchen ingredients that both inside and out will help make your skin Radiant.. but like going to the gym it takes CONSISTENCY to get the results you are after! Here goes!….

1.Papaya. Use papaya as a refreshing face mask, and it’s so simple to do. Just scoop out the flesh of the fruit, mix it with a touch of fresh lemon or lime and apply to your face. Leave on about 15 minutes and wash off. With the antioxidants in the fruit, your face will be clean and glowing. This mask not only cleans the skin it also wards off wrinkles. Another Alternative if you are crunched on time is to use New Radiance Facial Glo Papaya Cleansing Scrub that contains Papaya Enzymes and Derivatives that are stabilized in a Vitamin enriched formulation you can use on the days when you don’t have a Fresh Papaya handy!….

2.Lemongrass Detoxifier. Lemongrass is in many East Asian dishes. It’s a pungent smelling herb that gives Thai food so much of its wonderful flavors which can also be used to detoxify skin. Chop up lemongrass and add some chopped ginger, basil and jasmine. Boil all this in water for about 10 minutes, then cool the liquid. Once it’s cooled, add some lemon or lime and drink throughout the day. It’s an amazing detoxifier for the whole body as well as a digestive aid. Looking at women from the Far East is it any wonder their skin glows?….

3.Turmeric is an unbelievable facial scrub. You can either buy the fresh turmeric and grind it but, as this is a bit time-consuming, you can use the dried turmeric, which works just as well. Wet your face then pour a little turmeric powder into your hands, add some water and make a paste. Spread the turmeric paste all over your face and rub well in for 3-5 minutes. Wash off. You will notice your skin is a little tingly and also has a very slight orange color to it. Don’t worry, as that will wash off with just a little soap and water. Your skin will feel fresh all day and will have an unbelievable glow to it. It also is reputed to get rid of fine lines…..

4. Full Body massage.Massage rids the body of toxins as well as soothes aching muscles. Get a massage and you’ll feel ten years younger. Using Thai Massage Balls in massage adds an added layer where you can integrate Aromatherapy and Naturallysourced herbs and ingredients to supplement your skin with hydration and nutrients in the process or receiving the massage. If you have a partner find regular time in your week to give and receive even a short massage will add years to your life and life to your years. ….

5. Thai Diet. Thais eat a lot of rice and vegetables with Thai dishes that have many herbs and spices but only a little meat. Red meat normally weighs you down and clogs the body, so Thais either eat a little bit or eat lots of fish or seafood instead. Spices also clean the body and thus make the skin fresh and glowing. Eat Thai food often and you will definitely notice an improvement in your body and your energy level…..

6. Fruit and Natural Herb Drinks. Drink a lot of water and fruit juices and eliminate or reduce alcohol. Coffee is becoming a lot more popular in the Far East, but Green Tea is considered healthier due to many antioxidants it possesss. So, for a quick pick me up, ditch the coffee and try a green tea shake (blend green tea with vanilla yoghurt and a scoop of lemon sherbet), a fresh fruit juice or a fruit shake (3 or 4 of your favorite fruits mixed with yoghurt and ice and blended). For even more Green Tea you can supplement your intake with a once daily application of New Radiance Green Tea Glo Anti-Oxidant Cream that is enriched with Green Tea and Vitamins A, B, C and E with Co Q10. Since most ingested Vitamins do not make it to top dermal levels it take both inside and outside effort to create optimal Anti-Aging Skin and Body Strategies…..

Top Ten Skincare Tips for your most Radiant Complexion

There are defined things that we can all do for a better complexion in addition to the topical skincare that we invest in. We believe that both internal and external lifestyle decisions lead to the best results when striving for healthy radiant skin. Here are 10 of the Top Skincare Tips Skin Experts the world over regularly suggest. No surprise that we’ve heard many of these before… right?
1. Stick to a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables and plenty of fiber.
2. Keep your hands off your face and keep your cell phone and headphones clean.
3. Drink plenty of clear liquids, particularly water and avoid sugary beverages filled with sodium, caffeine and artificial ingredients.
4. Wear your SPF and stay out fo the sun where possible. At minimum avoid sun burns which cause the most damage.
5. Never go to bed without washing your face and using high quality anti-oxidant cream (Hmh..mm great chance for us to suggest you try New Radiance Green Tea Glo Cream just loaded up with Vitamins A, B, C, and E of course.. yum! ).
6. Get enough sleep, lack of stress causes skin to be sluggish and remove waste slower.
7. Don’t squeeze or pop pimples
8. Avoid categorizations like “I have dry skin” “I have oily skin”. Most women experience changes in their skin at some point in their lives that might position you to “Mis-treat” your skin. Changes due to hormones (monthly fluctuations, menopause, pregnancy), seasonal (summer vs winter), and lifestyle changes (Stress, exercise, diet or illness) can all have large impacts. You may find you have oily skintype one month and your oily skin products are not suited for your dry skin 4 months later. You may of course opt to keep several different skin products on hand to remedy these changes or opt for a high quality product that you can use with discretion that is well suited for all skin types. Need we mention New Radiance is formulated to factor all skin types… :)
9. Skin Exfoliation should be done according to your skin type. New Radiance Facial Glo Papaya Cleansing Scrub can be used daily for oilier skin, bi-weekly for normail skin and a couple of times a month for drier skin.
10. When it comes to make-up choose high quality products that allow you to use less for a better impact. Your Skin will Thank You and so will your looks in the long run!
Have a Radiant Day!

Keep Summer in your Skin with a pinneaple DIY skin polish

Summer fruit is so yummy it makes you want to savour every bit. Now that the cooler weather is coming keep skin moisturized by ensuring proper exfoliation and nutrition. In fact with this quick and easy trick you can do both at the same time!

Ingredients:

keep the peel of a fresh pinneaple cut into strips after you enjoy the fruit

A small amount is perfect, you only need about 1/4 to a 1/3 of a pinneaple and you can keep the rest of the peel in the freezer for later use. Sprinkle the inside of the peel with coarse sugar or salt to add the exfoliation and mobilize some of the nutrients locked in the fruit. Use the inside of the peel (not the outside) to gently scrub your body while in the shower, just like a loofah. Rinse well and hydrate with a rich hydrating cream.

Tip: never use the peel on gentler skin like your face or even back, be careful with how much pressure you use during exfoliation as a little goes a long way and you can over exfoliate!

See you next week! PS- Make sure to check out our store this week, we’ve listened to all you fans asking us for even easier shipping and payment options. We now accept Paypal and ship to even the most far reaching parts of the globe- Yippee!!!

Our Blog is on Summer Schedule & will be posted occasionally only. Weekly blog starts back the week of September 16th 2013. Have a great summer everyone!

Giving skin a vitamin boost- the Spirulina Algae way:

These days, we spend a lot of time discussing our Hydrating Thai Algae Mask at New Radiance and sometimes its nice to remember why we’re so excited about the stuff anyways…Jam packed with Spirulina Algae a deep sea vegetation found in the Indian Ocean there is good reason to be slathing this on our skin on a regular basis, here’s Why….
Spirulina Algae holds 64 Vitamins, Minerals and Enzymes (all of which are easily absorbed by skin and stabilized using a patented delivery system). It also contains more biologically active chlorophyll than any other known source of food. (We do love the mask… but even then we don’t recommend you eat it ).
Active constituents in Spirulina Algae also include higher levels of Beta-carotene than found in Broccoli, and it is composed of approximately 70% vegetable proteins. This source of Algae is also rich in calcium, iron, vitamins B12, B1, B6, C and E as well as the full spectrum of 8 essential amino acids and 10 non-essential ones. Algae also contains the important minerals Selenium, zinc, manganese and copper. Spirulina Algae is the single most nutrient dense food on the planet. In fact, you might have already heard of Algae like Spirulina or Blue-Green as one of the world’s best “super-foods” due to their incredibly high concentrations of vitamins, anti-oxidants and essential life building blocks… and rest assured that there is a great deal of science to support this…
hydrating-thai-algae-mask-box
The History of Spirulina and Blue Green Algae:

Archaelogical evidence suggests Algae may be as old as Earth itself finding fossilized Algae dating back more tha 2 billion years. In actuality the Algae plant is composed of tiny microscopic cyanobacteria that are responsible for 95% of the photosynthetic activity of our planet making them incredibly important to aquatic and therefore human lifecycles.

How exactly does Spirulina Algae benefit our Skin?
The burning question of course.. is how does it work? It is believed that Spirulina Algae extracted and correctly stabilized works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called collagenase which exists in skin naturally and acts to break down collagen. In aging and illness this enzyme may increase its activity. Since Collagens are important skin proteins and they are essential for the construction and performance of the extracellular matrix in the dermis layer of your skin (the part that keeps skin’s youth and plumpness)… it is important to ensure sufficient Collagen for optimal skin function and hydration as well as the anti-agin benefits.
Other Skin Benefits include:
1) The Inhibition of Skin Irritation and reduced reduced oxidative stress to skin cells
2) Additional Hydration through the normalization and balance of hydration and waste elimination in the skin
3) prevention of the appearance of spots and discoloration as can be in the case with acne
4) Enhanced Skin Firmness (through the Collagen re-building process discussed above) and stimulation of dermal cell renewal.

Overall Health Benefits of Spirulina Algae:….

The known benefits of organic blue-green algae are extensive. If these small bacteria are responsible for all oxygen-breathing life as we know it, imagine the powerful effects it can offer our skin and even the rest of our bodies (when ingested in correct form)

Currently, there are many well-known, well-documented benefits of Spirulina algae, including:….

Powerful energy booster due to its incredibly high nutrient concentration…..
Anti-aging effects on skin, hair and organs….
High concentration of anti-oxidants, allowing the body to rid itself of toxins and free-radicals more easily…..
Immune system strengthener (in foods). Clinical studies show that Algae sends the Natural Killer (NK) cells into the blood stream. From there, these NK cells can find damaged tissues and begin to fight free-radicals…..
Stimulates stem cell release and movement, helping to regenerate damaged body tissue…..
Very absorbable to the body. Around 97% of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes found in blue-green algae are easily absorbed into the system. Most vitamin supplements are only 5-25% absorbable…..
Reduction in headaches and pain…..
Improves digestion. Blue-green algae creates a coating effect on the stomach…..
Powerful detox effects allow us to rest easier, as they body does not have to work so hard to cleanse while we sleep…..
Weight reduction. Helps to balance food cravings…..
Improves mental focus, increases concentration
High protein content strengthens the hair, nails and skin…..
Beneficial effect on brain development, reducing in depression and anxiety…..
Helps us to cope with stressful situations more easily…..
Regular consumption has been linked to improved memory recall.
Powerful field of action over the immune system, as well as gastrointestinal functioning, endocrine system, nervous system, and cardio-vascular actions.
….
In the end, when it comes to our caring for our bodies, we can all agree Mother Nature knows best. That is why combined with our patented transdermal delivery system New Radiance Hydrating Thai Algae Mask made with fresh Spirulina Algae is a comprehensive source of the natural organic nutrients our skin craves and needs. Sandal weather is here! What are you doing to make sure your feet are ready to shine? A visit to your local spa will include a warm water soak (hopefully with some herbal and essential oil treats), a good exfoliation of feet and legs , cuticle and nail trim and shaping, and of course some fresh polish of your choice. While the Spa makes it easy, its not a bad idea to keep your heels looking their best between visits with this simple DIY foot scrub….

Mix the following ingredients together and store in an airtight glass jar in a dark place for no more than 2 weeks:….

¼ cup of brown sugar….

2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice….

2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel….

1 teaspoon of coconut oil….

….

The end result should be a smooth consistency paste. For best results soak your feet to soften skin and massage 1-2 tablespoons into each foot, really focusing on the rough areas like your heels. Rinse and remember to follow with a rich moisturizing cream such as one with a high content of shea butter or coconut butter. ….

Combined with alternating full on pedicures this simple touch up will keep skin soft and beautiful for great looking feet all summer!

Keep your skin bright this summer with this DIY treat

Think you are immune to working hard over the summer to keep your skin radiant? many do… with natural Vitamin D and getting a soft sun kissed glow it is easy to forget that our skin needs even more hydration in the warmer months. This means drinking more water and using better hydrating skincare in addition to consistent UV protection.
Even then many women suffer with patchy discoloration of their skin. Pregnant women are especially prone to dark patches on their faces called chloasma. In many parts of the world it is not the sun kissed glow women seek but a bright light complexion. No matter your preference for sun- or not, there are things you can do to keep skin bright and radiant throughout the summer.
Today we share a simple DIY recipe for a daily skin cleanser which uses White Clay to help brighten your tone. All ingredients are easy to find at most natural health food shops.

Ingredients you will need:
1/2 lemon’s freshly squeezed juices
2 ounces of natural olive oil soap
1 ounce of white clay or Fuller’s Earth
12 drops of chamomile essential oil

Combine your freshly squeezed lemon juice with your soap while whisking gently to reduce bubble formation. Gradually fold in the clay and stir throughly. Finally add in the essential oils and stir for consistency. You can use about a dime sized portion on a wet face and massage gently to clean. rinse with warm water and follow with a quality anti-oxidant cream for hydration and skin nourishment.
THe recipe above will last for up to 6 weeks so if you are planning to use this long make sure that you store in a dark air-tight container between uses. Don’t want to DIY but want to get the skin brightening and radiant benefits described above? try our new White Grapefruit Restorative Serum loaded with anti-oxidants. Available here for $44.
Enjoy!

Anti-aging Skincare benefits of lovely Chestnuts:

iStock_000016078022Small

Sure you can eat Chestnuts, but not all of us enjoy them. Not to mention the fact that they are usually seasonally available between only a small part of the year- in Canada- late October to mid January is when they are best, any later and you are better off getting the canned or preserved versions. But even if you don’t enjoy snacking on these you can still benefit from their amazing anti-aging benefits!

Aesculus Hippocastum – also known as the Chestnut. First found growing naturally in regions of Asia and north Europe, many of the parts of the horse chestnut tree, including the seeds, leaves, and bark, have been used medicinally. However, only some parts of the chestnut plant have actual medicinal value. The active ingredients believed to mediate this action is a molecule called aescin which belongs to the saponin family. The chief benefits of these molecules is to increase blood flow and circulation to the area and promote the removal of toxins and the oxygenation of healthy dermal tissue through this effect. Also tied to this action on blood vessels is the fact that it improves anti-inflammatory effects and thereby speeds healing. This is all great if you have acne or problem skin.. but what about for the rest of us? Most people derive benefit through increased oxygenation and the best way to do this is increasing blood flow to the area- been for a run lately? We rest our case.

The horse chestnut herb contains additional substances that contribute to its medicinal effects. These include flavonoids, sterols, and tannins also improving skin health, skin tone and balance. Flavonoids are particularly known for their anti-oxidant abilities.

The health benefits of Chestnuts are well known in the Far East, and modern science is now proving that some of the highest free radical scavenging activities of 65 plants that were tested showing a more powerful anti-oxidant activity than Vitamin E!! With cellular protection activity like this the ramifications on anti-aging are huge! That being said it is important to select products containing high grade Chestnut extracts and ensure that the processes of production maintain the best care of these active agents. New Radiance Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser contains only highest grade Organic Chestnut Extract and upholds the highest standards of manufacturing. Our Cleanser is available for purchase online here and through select spa boutiques and salons. Be sure to check it out!

10 days to Tighten & Tone your skin for Spring!!

The sun is finally starting to peak through the clouds and brighten our days; which are also getting longer :) . It won’t be long before our skin will show all the things we have been putting in and and on it this winter- this of course includes our fresh water intake, exercise and of course good quality anti- aging skincare products. How Good have you been? If you haven’t been an angel all winter- don’t worry- Today we wanted to focus on how you can use your New Radiance skincare pieces in a 4 Step Face Ritual to help in creating your new skin radiance& keeping it going All summer long !!

The goal: reducing the size and appearance of skin pores in a 10 day ritual that really works. As we get older the small size of our pores starts to change and their appearance in key areas like the forehead, around and on the nose and chin really start to emerge. In addition whiteheads and blackheads can clog pores making matters worse sometimes causing acne, or reducing the beauty of our skin. Luckily there are things we can do that dramatically tighten the appearance of pore size and tone skin to reduce unevenness due to pores.

all_2013_revised_final_micro2

DO the following once a day for 10 days and see the difference in your skin- we challenge you!!! This really works!

Step 1: Invest in a great Facial Scrub & use it:

What makes a great facial scrub? Is one made for the rest of the body good enough? Well of course all scrubs are not created equal. For best results use one specifically designed for the skin on your face. This will have microbeads that are much smaller than the granules to slough skin on your back or arms and should be loaded with other goodies. Try our Facial Glo Papaya Cleansing scrub which in addition to standard ingredients found in the other facial scrubs has tons of vitamins, papaya extract and salicylic acid to help breakdown dead skin cells so they can be gently buffed about by the scrub. Your skin will feel smooth and polished, and not too tight as there are precious essential oils to condition your skin and keep moisture from leaking out.

Step 2: Follow with the right Facial Cleanser:

A lot of things can pass as cleansers these days. As an experiment we stopped by our local “eco-shop” at our big box mall the other day to check out the ingredient listing on their washes. This brand which we will only say is very well known and gives the perception of being eco-friendly and good for you- lists its top ingredient as sodium laureth sulfate- a big no-no for skin found in cheaper products. Opt for a moisturizing cleanser if you have drier to normal skin such as New Radiance Lychee Garden Cleansing Milk or control oil with our Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser. While they both have different extracts we will focus on the Lychee Garden Cleanser when we say this product really works magic. Even after you exfoliate you should cleanse because a good cleanser will offer better “detergent” action to lift excess oils that clog pores. Your skin should never feel tight after a cleanser is used. New Radiance formulates exclusive cleansers with natural vitamins, fruit and nut extracts and quality essential oils.

Step 3: Don’t skip the Toner:

Most people try to save on cost and cut the toner out of their skincare regime- this is a big no-no if you are serious about beautiful skin. Firstly a toner will balance the pH of your skin which will help it avoid getting irritated and keep healthy. Also it will help your serum or moisturizer penetrate better. Finally a good toner acts as an astringent and will actually tighten the tension on the top layer of your skin to help minimize pore appearance and size. The best analogy I think is like Spanx for your skin J . Checkout the New Radiance Revitalizing Glo Bamboo Toner added in 2013 – You will be really impressed with it’s 100% botanicals ingredients & the impact the product has on your skintone and pore size visibility – Aloe, Cucumber extract, St. Johns Wort, Camomile & more – all act to calm even the most sensitive skin and keep pH balanced. Finally there are no alcohols in any of our products.

Step 4: Hydrate your new skin radiance with bliss:

What fun is using a poorly designed skincream on your skin? Skip the fuss and get an all in one moisturizer that doubles as an anti-aging cream. Just loaded with minerals, anti-oxidants including Vitamins A, B, C, D and E plus Co Enzyme Q10 and Green Tea Extract. Hydrated skin with the right nutrients at the level where they are needed is important in healthy radiant skin and smaller pores. Our Green Tea Glo Anti-Oxidant Cream is our most popular skincare item for a reason- as it fights all 8 signs of skin aging including pore size appearance. Also contains Organic Thai Jasmine for a very gentle relaxing scent that let’s you get your Zen on everyday!

South East Essential Oils and your Skin’s Health and Beauty:

zensecrets_solo_revised_2_smaller

With a growing body of evidence on the healing benefits of quality essential oils mostly focusing on the mind body connection, ingredients for food and anti-microbial action of active compounds we thought the time was right to review some of the skin health benefits tied to two of the most sacred Essential Oils found in the Far East- Cardamom and Turmeric. Tied to two thousand year old traditions, and longstanding Ayrvedic practices the world of these two oils is worth exploring- here’s why:

The health benefits of Cardamom Essential Oil can be attributed to key skincare properties: it is anti microbial and therefore great for acne prone skin, anti septic and will disinfect already infected skin areas like a bad pimple, astringent and will help tighten the skin tone and appearance of pores, as well as aphrodisiac which promotes positive feelings about yourself and of course your love life!. The light fragrance is also a stimulant which helps to clear and balance the mind. The purer the oil, the better the effects, which is why we recommend using products containing only the highest grade organic essential oils. Since Cardamom seeds, native to southern India, are harvested from always before they ripen, there is only a small 3-4% yield of the end product as only the more aromatic seeds will be used in the oil. From an Ayurvedic Medicine perspective it is also used to improve the flushing of toxins. In addition to being endogenous to India, the Chinese have been using it as a natural anti-depressant for almost 2000 years!.

Turmeric is another fabulous plant that is known for speeding up the healing process of wounds and assisting in remodelling of damaged skin in addition to the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory processes. It may also help in the treatment of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions as well as reducing the appearance of scars caused by acne. If you are travelling in India you will be hard pressed to find a curry without the presence of pure Turmeric somewhere in the ingredients. Though it has been used as commonly as table salt in the South East it is only recently that its health benefits are beginning to be know, though scientists are backing up the facts with the research, the mechanisms through which Turmeric mediates these effects is still poorly understood.

Both Cardamom and Turmeric are found in New Radiance’s Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser & other essential oils like Thai Bergamot can be found in New Radiance Lychee Garden Cleansing Milk. New Radiance Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser (47$) is available here. And Lychee Garden Cleansing Milk which also includes Lychee Extract($35) can be purchased here. In addition to Cardamom and Turmeric organic essential oils, Zen Secrets Premium Cleanser also contains camomile flowers, Chinese White Tea and Chestnut extracts also known for their cleansing and beautifying properties throughout the Far East. Both Cleansers are exclusively formulated for New Radiance Anti-aging Skincare & brought to you through quality spas & spa boutiques only.

We thought with the cold weather finally on it’s way out, we would seal in the emphasis on total skin hydration with a great little number for hydrating your lips. In the colder months lips tend to get left behind and eventually end up rough and cracked so a good best practice is to use a lip scrub every two or three days to slough off dead skin cells first and then apply gloss or color, remembering to seal your lips during the day and at night will help them look awesome in between. To avoid your lips getting chapped avoid licking them in the cold months and opt instead to apply plenty of hydrating lipgloss like this little number. We’ll share our DIY home made lipscrub recipe with you some other time… after all… we need you to check back weekly for updates right!
So- here goes!
1. Assemble all ingredients in a pyrex or microwave safe container:
1 teaspoon or grated beeswax
1 teaspoon cocoa butter
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon macademia nut oil
1 teaspoon light sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil

if you are wondering where to get the ingredients like beeswax consider re-cycling old unscented lipbalms and if you don’t have cocoa butter you can substitute with shea butter..

2. microwave on low heat watchin every 30 seconds for 1-2 minutes.. you can also do it on the stove with a saucepan if you prefer to have better control. once the beeswax is melted you can stir everything together with a toothpick and pour into a small 1 oz glass jar.. The recipe should give you ~3/4 of an oz.. which should last you the season!

3. Spread on your lips and Enjoy homemade tropical lipgloss for Radiant lips!

Easter Detox Face Mask

Spring is here! and what better way to jumpstart great Skin but with a Detoxification Mask that has fits the season. This one is Easy and Quick and your Skin is sure to love the extra Vitamins A and C along with Beta-Carotene. The Natural Clay in this recipe will also help strip away impurities in your skin and really cleanse your pores.
Combine:
1/4 cup Fresh Carrot Juice
1/4 cup Natural Clay Powder- (we recommend using White Clay for this recipe)

Stir the ingredients together and feel free to thicken the mask if you’d like by adding more clay. The mask will stay fresh if used within 1 week, but you must store it in the fridge.

We recommend using after cleansing your skin to remove excess oils or makeups. Next spread about half the mixture on your face and neck leaving out the areas around your eyes and mouth. Leave the mask to set and dry for about 20-25 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water first, and then follow by splashing your face with cold water once all the mask has been removed. Pat your skin dry before following with a toner and moisturizer. We recommend using an extra rich and hydrating cream following this mask since your skin will be particularly drier than usual. Understanding facial masks and why they must be a regular part of any good anti-aging skin regime

Woman with face green mud mask on big leaves

Let’s face it Skincare in this day and age can be complicated. With so many items you can put on your face it takes time and can be expensive. Regular Facial Masks at home can be one of those inexpensive and easy Skin savers that pay dividends in the long run. Here’s Why: SKin is alive and breathing.. unlike hair and nails there are ongoing biochemical processes in your skin. Depending on the Mask type you choose, either Purifying or Hydrating they will have different but equally important results.
Types of Masks:
1) Purifying Masks: The best ones will employ natural Clays to pull impurities from the dermis and remove them through the surface of the skin. The Clay dries and draws out these agents but can also dehydrate the skin if not done properly, done too often (more than once every 2-3 weeks is generally not recommended), or if the mask is not of a good quality. See below on an easy DIY recipe you can try at home that will employ the goodness of natural Blueberries.2) Hydrating Masks: Winter is coming, and with it… the dreaded Winter Skin. There is hope. In addition to excellent moisturizers as part of a good skincare regime, the Hydrating Mask is a must to get back lost moisture, anti-oxidants and collagen for your skin. A good hydrating mask will always contain extra nutrition in addition to the hydrating component. The key feature of a Hydrating Mask is that IT DOES NOT DRY ON TOP OF SKIN AFTER APPLIED. Typically it has the consistency of an extra rich moisturizing cream but contains much more. New Radiance Hydrating Thai Algae Mask contains Spirulina Algae rich in naturally occuring sea minerals and is enriched with Vitamins A1, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, and E to give your skin extra nutrition. In the end both mask types are important parts of your skin care routing and should be used with care.
If you are making the Purifying Mask recipe above, a brief word on Clays. When shopping for a clay choose the best natural quality one. A good one is Fuller’s Eart which has a grey consistency and is available in many specialty health stores. Another great option, albeit more expensive is French Green Clay. You can play around with some other options like Kaolin/ White China Clay but be careful on selecting the absolute finest grade or you may not have the results you want.Making a Clay mask is easy:
Combine 2 Tablespoons of natural Clay powder
with 1- 2 Tablespoons of Distilled/ Purified WaterYou can add fresh smashed blueberries to the mix for an anti-oxidant treat!Stir the paste together just before use and spread the mixture freshly on face avoid the neck and gently eye areas.
Well that’ s all for now- see you next week!

SPRING INTO GREAT SKIN WITH A MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT

Spring is in the air, and it’s time to get your skin ready for summer by removing dead skin and rejuvenation. Microdermabrasion is one of the more popular and safer ways to improve the look of your skin in comparison to Botox or plastic surgery. As with all procedures there can be minor side effects. If you are investigating the possibility of a microdermabrasion treatment, it’s important to understand these so you can prepare yourself for the outcome and determine if it’s right for you.

Tingling

The first side effect that everyone will experience in one form or another is the tingling and pain that comes from having the microdermabrasion treatment. The use of different abrasive materials will help to strip away the top layer of skin. This is comprised of dead skin cells so it is a very gentle process, however some people experience some tingling and pain. Tip: mention to the tech that you have never had the procedure done and aske them to go gentle. They may use a different grade of agent (gentler exfoliation) or just reduce the number of passes they use per square cm of your skin.

Redness

Another one of the side effects of the microdermabrasion treatment is that it will cause some redness. The redness usually subsides within a few hours to a few days, depending upon the abrasive material used as well as the moisturizers and other products applied afterwards. Most doctors will be able to tell you exactly how long the redness will last based upon past patients that have had the treatment. Keep in mind that redness varies from patient to patient.

Pigment Changes

One of the most significant side effects of microdermabrasion is the risk of pigment changes. The treatment can produce some light or dark patches because you are tampering with the equilibrium of the pigments. This risk is fairly small, however those with darker skin are more prone to having it happen than those with very fair or light skin.
Other than some redness and the small possibility of a pigmentary change within a patch of skin, microdermabrasion doesn’t have the side effects that many of the other treatments on the market have. There are no open wounds which mean that there is no possible chance for infection. There is no acid used as with chemical peels, so there is no chance for burning the skin either. It is recommended to avoid spending time in the sun after both peels and dermabrasion due to the naive skin that you have just exposed.

Try not to worry

Talking to your doctor will help you to understand all of the risks involved with microdermabrasion based upon your skin type. If you have any concerns about pigment changes, make them known to your doctor in advance so that he or she can give you some statistics based upon what they have seen with someone of your particular skin complexion.
Whether you are trying to hide signs of aging, acne scars or something else, microdermabrasion is a very effective treatment that you can have done that is very safe. Since the side effects are very minimal, it has become a popular choice for men and women around the country. There are cosmetologists, dermatologists and many others who are offering the services because it can be performed in a matter of hours with virtually no recovery time.

If you are worried about the side effects, ask questions and do your research. You may find that one type of abrasive material is more effective than another kind and has fewer side effects. Knowing what you’re getting yourself into can help you enjoy the results that much more. Take the time to do your homework and it will pay off in the end. Consider talking to someone at the location that you are considering doing it at, they may be able to comment on their experiences and guide some of your decisions.
Finally remember that your fresh new skin requires hydration more than ever. For best results cut out the caffeine and sugar beverages and drink extra water the first few days and even before you go. Also invest in a high quality Vitamin Skincare product that can nourish and hydrate your skin like New Radiance Green Tea Glo Anti-Oxidant Cream plus a daily serum treatment like our White Grapefruit Restorative Serum. Most importantly- Enjoy your New Skin!

Demystifying Skin Toners in your skincare regime

bambootoner_revised_2_smallerWhat is the role of Toners in Skincare and exactly how much do they matter to the quality of your Skin tone? SHould you include a Toner in your skincare regime & when?
Many of us wrestle with the idea of adding one more step to our skincare regime, after all life is complicated and why add something if no one notices and it doesn’t make a difference. This is unfortunately not the case with Toners that have a few necessary functions:
1) they are water based agents that balance the pH levels of skin
2) they function as a natural astringent removing excess oils for oilier skin and tightening pores for a smaller look and feel.
3) they help your day or evening cream penetrate the skin to do its job
4) if you are using one in the morning before you apply your makeup they can help your foundation blend easier. Why is the pH level of your skin so important? because balanced skin will have fewer blemishes and allow the active agents in your day and night creams to work better. Toners work best if used after washing (& or exfoliating) your skin and can be applied by misting on your skin or using a cotton swab.
Aim for both morning and evening applications and try not to think of this as “an extra step”. In reality it helps to realize that the toner takes seconds to apply and the benefits are massive with regular use. What to watch out for?
The difference between toners and astringent is an issue of degrees. Toners tend to be milder and better for dry or normal skin, while astringents tend to remove more of the surface oils from skin and are better suited for oily or combination skin. Either way you should inspect the ingredient list as many of the commercially found astringents contain isopropyl alcohol which is a strong artificial solvent found widely in nail polish removers. This can be damaging and drying to the skin so be wary or toners with complex formulations- sometimes the simplest Toners are the best. Far East Essential oils & how they benefit your skincare:

While both Cardamom and Turmeric are recently beginning to be incorporated into few beauty products such as New Radiance’s newly launched Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser, they are still few and far between at your average pharmacy beauty counter. The great news is that these spices (not the essential oils) are available at your grocery store and can quickly and easily become incorporated into various DIY beauty treatments that are also very cost effective also. Be careful if incorporating the spice versions as pure Turmeric’s ochre color will certainly stain the skin as in this form it is even used as a natural dye. New Radiance Zen Secrets Premium Facial Cleanser is available (~47$). In addition to Cardamom and Turmeric organic essential oils also contains camomile flowers, Chinese White Tea and Chestnut extracts also known for their cleansing and beautifying properties throughout the Far East. Available through select Spa Retailers and online www.newskinradiance.com/shop.

Your 2013 New Radiance Skincare Facials Guide:

A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin. Did you know that facial are the second most popular spa treatment after massage?. Sometimes called a “deep-cleansing facial” or or “deep-pore cleansing” facial because of extractions, Regular facials, either at home or a spa are an important part of healthy skin maintenance because they allow several processes that do not occur on their own at the surface of the skin.

These important processes are cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, toning and nourishing. Due to the number of steps, products employed most people prefer to have facials done regularly by a Spa but it is not necessary to spend big money every month if you understand the steps and have high quality skincare products on hand. By investing in the right tools you will save money on spa visits and be able to indulge in what is really a simple ritual more frequently at home. The good news is that your best skin can be had by using a variety of tools employed by professional spas and estheticians and done by yourself. There are some steps which you will need to see a pro for but you can reserve spa visits for less often if you take care of your skin in between.

The Basic Steps of a Facial

Step 1: Skin Cleansing. This could be done with cotton pads or sponges and definitely involves a product chosen for your skin type (normal, dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature.) If you tend to have dry to normal skin you will more likely select a cleanser that is more hydrating such as a nourishing milk, same thing goes if you have oily skin- you will more likely not use a milk but a gel or solution based cleanser. Check out the list of ingredients and benefits of various cleansers on the market as not all contain high quality natural and organic ingredients.

Step 2: Skin Analysis. The esthetician covers your eyes and looks at your skin through a brightly lit magnifying lamp that reveal various skin conditions. This is a step like Extractions that you cannot do at home for yourself but can get done periodically by visiting a Spa for a facial. It is recommended to do so at major changes in your skin- periodically because of age, seasonally due to extreme weather exposure, and due to life events- pregnancy is an example of one that wreaks major havoc on the skin and causes major changes.

Step 3: Exfoliation: can be done by using a mechanical or chemical exfoliant. Mechanical exfoliation has a gritty texture and usually happens while a steam vapor is directed at your face. A chemical peel can be a stand-alone treatment or part of the facial. It is generally an “upgrade” and done in a series. Chemical peels will take off more skin than mechanical and are not recommended to do frequently. Also you must limit exposure to sun, and take extra care to re-hydrate skin after these procedures. On a more regular (daily/ weekly) basis it is recommended to use mechanical exfoliation to keep skin regenerating nicely and keep pores clear.

Step 4: Extraction : Used for blackheads or whiteheads if you want it and need it. (It can cause broken capillaries and discoloration if done on sensitive skin, or done improperly.) People have different pain tolerance for extractions. They can be uncomfortable, especially on thin or ruddy skin. Extractions are best reserved for the professional spa facial as the esthetician will use special lighting and magnification to ensure they are done correctly.

Step 5: Masks: A facial mask targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature) and condition. There are several types of masks on the market but they fall into 2 general categories- hydrating and purifying. If your skin is more mature, dryer, or has been stressed lately you are better with the hydrating mask. These do not dry on the skin’s surface and are used to replenish them with various things like collagen, peptides, vitamins etc. The purifying mask is better for skin prone to impurities, and used to tighten pores and improve skintone. The best purifying masks tend to be clay based but have different properties depending on the type of ingredients.

Step 6: Facial Massage using classic strokes like effleurage to both relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles. This is also more relaxing when done by someone else but it does not hurt to give yourself a facial massage as you apply your hydrating cream at the end.

Step 7: Tone: Many people forget to tone their skin after even basic cleansing but this is an important step so if all you do is cleanse and moisturize this would be the one extra step we recommend on a daily basis. Toning has many benefits including pH balancing. It will help your hydrating day or night cream set and is a worthwhile investment.

Step 8: Hydrate: This last step is critical. The selection of a high quality hydrating day or night cream involves many considerations. Ingredients you should look for: Essential Oils, Anti-oxidants- especially naturally occuring ones from fruit and plan extracts, botanicals, collagens & peptides. New Radiance Green Tea Glo Anti-Oxidant cream is a day to night cream that loads up on Vitamins A, B, C & E plus Co-enzyme Q-10, essential oils & more all in a patented delivery system that makes sure vitamins are stable and get to where they are needed.

Preservatives in Skincare: The Trade off between All Natural and Not:

Should Parabens be part of Skincare and Cosmetics? This is a Challenging Topic and not without strong opinions either… We’d love to be able to say you can have your cake and eat it too… However the truth is that in the real world there are tradeoffs to make between having products that are ALL Natural and ones that stay fresh while active ingredients last longer than a few days or weeks.

Maintaining stability of precious elements like botanical extracts and vitamins is best tackled through the use of various stabilizing compounds added to Skincare products that work to improve their shelf lives when combined carefully and ideally in small amounts. Without stabilizers the half-lives of Active compounds like Vitamins, in your Skincare products would be so small they wouldn’t work by the time you got them as the vitamins denature unless stabilized. For Example Compounds like Vitamin C have short lives and without stabilizers there would be very little benefit to even adding them. This is one of the BIGGEST problems facing Companies that make the claim of “No preservatives” and “All Natural”… so while the products started out rich in nutrients and they are totally pure and natural, the lack of stabilizing agents does not help the important other ingredients in those products- so while they are natural, there is very little wholesomeness left in most of them. Ingredients like vitamins have so short a natural lifespan that by the time customers use them… the vitamins are literally gone! to us at New Radiance- that is a waste of a Good Thing!

Then there is the whole dilemma of parabens or no parabens. A small number of published articles (less than 0.01%) show that parabens are somehow correlated to breast cancer- but so is coffee at that level. The studies have been correlative, not causative and the levels of parabens found not much higher than in placebo groups. Yet anti-paraben camps continue to focus on potential for harmful activity. Some companies focus their entire marketing activities around the role parabens play in cancer which is a lot like focusing your attention on an ant hill somewhere in Africa when describing a recent trip you made there. Huh?- that makes no sense!- exactly!

So it’s important to understand- what are parabens? Parabens are essentially wax derivatives that have anti-fungal and anti-microbial activity which increase the shelf life of products so you can use them in a reasonable time and which ensure these products stay safe and keep their active properties you need them to have. Parabens have been used extensively in skincare products and are approved by the FDA and Health Canada for decades. The challenge is that there really are no better natural preservatives out there. So you either go all natural and buy or make products on a weekly basis, choose a product with some parabens but make sure it is on the low end of the scale, or you take a gamble on a newer relatively untested variety and wait and see if there is any concern.

One final Caveat- Be wary of claims of “Paraben Free” or “All Natural, no Preservatives” that are very popular these days. On the front end there are good benefits for skincare products with these claims that are concocted freshly and used up within days to a week but not much longer. Without preservation you will undoubtably get bacterial/ fungal growth and the active agents you are paying to get on your skin will denature fast even when you keep them refrigerated. Finally there is the cost element, while Natural is the ideal way to go and preferred by no doubt, you will need to buy these goods on a weekly basis which increases the costs and time spent on your skincare routine. Definetely not Fuss Free- but hats off to anyone willing to try and definetely the one we recommend at the top!

Both FDA and Health Canada Approve Parabens for Safety and Function in Skincare Products and if there were safety issues with them- they would quite simply never approve products to use them!

Since Parabens have been part of Beauty and Cosmetics for almost 100 years.. it is safe to say they are well known agents. This is especially the case when you compare them to newer synthetic agents being used in some “Paraben Free” products.. In the end don’t be fooled by products that will simply replace Parabens with another lesser known preservative. Remember if it’s All Natural you have to use it FAST.. if there is an Expiry Date on it and it says Paraben Free- that’s because it has some other Preservative..

What do Experts recommend?

Start by choosing skincare products that clearly list ALL their ingredients- Many well known products do not!!!.Yikes!

in the end choose products that use lower concentrations of preservatives like parabens. You will know them as they will be listed at the bottom of the ingredient labels. Products have several requirements and listing their ingredients is a key one.

Skincare Technology- How Nanotechnology is Maximizing your Skin’s Health and why it matters:

We thought we would kick off this weeks topic with a review on some of the hot new technology in skincare and share why we are so excited about it.
With so many new concepts in dermatology it can be tough to sort the trivial to the important. Nanotechnology simply put is a core concept that ties many ideas like peptides, vitamins and botanicals together since it impacts the STABILITY and DELIVERY of core nutrients.

Nanotechnology is revolutionary, although it has been around as a concept for decades. This technology is being used in applications like engineering and medicine and is now being referred to as the hottest thing in Skincare. Nano-skin care technology involves the addition of specialized nano particles in the range of 100-140 micron sizes(or very very very small J )to skincare products which allow these products to penetrate more deeply into the skin to produce more beneficial results faster. ….

Anti-aging skin care products such as those by New Radiance harness Nano-technology to Improve Skin delivery & skin penetration at the top layers and to ensure maximum impact of active ingredients used like Green Tea Extract, Organic Essential Oils and Vitamins.

Why seek products with “THE NANO”?

most relevant to Nanotechnology is the delivery system which allows these nano particles to deliver the natural ingredients into the skin for maximum impact at reasonable doses. The speed of onset of nanotech products is also faster since they get to work right away instead of poor quality Skincare products that lay on the skin’s surface and never really get absorbed. This is something to watch for as you use your hydrating creams. Good Skincare products will absorb quickly and leave a lasting hydration effect; poor ones will sit on the surface of the skin and never really get absorbed no matter what great agents they have on the ingredient list.
Also the push is on for reducing the concentrations of various preservatives in skin products which allow us to use them for extended periods. Using certain nanotech molecules will allow for better stability of the core ingredients like high grade vitamins A, B, C, D and E and other anti-oxidants to ensure they get to the layers of the skin where you can get the most benefit. Understanding Skin Masks and Why they should be a regular part of your beauty regime

Let’s face it Skincare in this day and age can be complicated. With so many items you can put on your face it takes time and can be expensive. While the benefits remain questionable in some cases, regular Facial Masks can be one of those inexpensive and easy Skin savers that pay dividends in the long run. Here’s Why- Your skin is alive and breathing and while a great diet, clear fluids and rest are a must- the environment, hormonal changes, stress and aging will sooner or later need more than the basics to cover their impacts.

In addition to excellent moisturizers as part of a good anti-aging skincare regime, the Hydrating Mask is a must to get back lost moisture, anti-oxidants and collagen for your skin. New Radiance Hydrating Thai Algae Mask contains Spirulina Algae rich in naturally occuring sea minerals and is enriched with Vitamins A1, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, and E to give your skin extra nutrition and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, plump skin and make it look and feel younger.

DIY Holiday Golden Shimmer Lip Balm

With New Year’s Eve only a few short days away we wanted to share this scrumptious recipe for a soy and coconut butter based lip moisturizer with a little shimmer for some extra glam. Also makes a wonderful personalized gift if you have lots of girlfriends or guys with chapped lips (minus the shimmer for the gents :).This is also a great choice for the strict Vegan on your list you have trouble buying for anyways. All ingredients are natural.
Here Goes!

Recipe is for 1 unit of balm:

1 tablespoon Coconut Butter
1 tablespoon Soy Wax
3 drops of Vanilla Extract
1 drop Rose Essential Oil
1 pinch of shimmery pink mineral blush
1 pinch of shimmery gold mineral glimmer
1 small lip tin that can hold ~60g

Put the Coconut Butter and the Soy Wax in a small glass jar. Place the glass jar at the bottom of a shallow pan that is filled with enough water to cover the glass jar up to half way. Heat the pan on low to medium until the mixture melts. Mix the mixture gently to even the consistency. Allow the mixture to cool a little before adding the essential oil, the mineral glimmers and the vanilla extract. When you are spooning the mineral blush in be careful as it has the tendency to go everywhere but where you intend it to. Use a small spatula or spoon to blend everything together.

Because the Wax is the only preservative used this is a true organic recipe provided all your ingredients are organic. The downside is that the balm has a shelf life of up to six months and should be stored in a cool place ,with minimal exposure to light.

Enjoy yourself or Wrap it up and as a gift!
Be Proud of your Creation, sure to be really enjoyed! Happy New Year!

Holiday Gift Giving Made Easy

Looking to have some fun this holiday season.. while staying on a tightrope budget?….

Ok, so we admit upfront we don’t have ALLLL the answers… but have some useful tips that can keep you sane this time of year since gift giving does not have to break the bank. ….

Fun options like:….

1)Do it yourself (DIY) creations… Make your own bath bombs, soaps, candles…etc. Follow us on Twitter for regular links to great sites posting kitchen ingredient recipes for various things…..

(One of our favorites is the Peppermint Body Scrub- perfect for gift giving in small glass jars with a festive ribbon.. and inexpensive too: http://bit.ly/vORxQc….

Also try a DIY Mango Body Butter-recipe at: http://bit.ly/uofbFf with natural ingredients……

(Keep in mind the shelf lives of these products is short and it is better to enjoy them fast)….

2)Treat your special someone to a homemade dinner and DIY massageusing an affordable oil blend like the Body Shop’s or a natural blend with essential oils.. They will appreciate this so much!….

3)Stick to Useful Gifts- Avoid knickknacks or odds and ends that collect dust and perform no meaning in the person’s life. Also good to avoid the things You think someone could use… these include funny gifts that serve a “getting a laugh” role. One that comes to mind is the talking fish the IT store carried some years ago. They sold a lot of those and Christmas and We’ve always wondered what people do with them. Good options are consumables the person will appreciate like skin or hair care products, chocolates and that sort of thing. Also services they enjoy or something they have asked for such as a pedicure, or night at the movies or dinner…..

4)KISS- Keep it simple sister- don’t overdo gift giving… one or two well thought out gifts are sooooo much better than many that just make the tree look full. Make your gifts count by hand picking something personal that the person will enjoy and use. Package the item well and make it memorable…..

Above All- Enjoy Yourself! Live the spirit of the season and Remember to Take Care of You in all the Hustle- Find Time out and de-stress for 2013… after all recharging your batteries with our friends and families is what the season should be about in the end… Season’s Greetings Everyone!….

Eastern Secrets of Facial Steaming

Today we chose to write about a lesser discussed area of skincare- Facial Steaming.. This simple DIY process is used to unclog pores and immediately after a good deep cleansing process of cleanser, and scrub to remove excess dead skin cells which can re-clog pores.. The purpose of a Facial Steam is to open pores, allow skin to breath, to re-hydrate skin and for the aromatherapy benefits of a good quality Steam.
An easy to make Facial Steam you can try consists of:3 cups filtered/ pure water
1 teaspoon of caledula flower blooms (health food store)
1 teaspoon of camomile flowers (health food store)
2 teaspoons of rasberry, blackberry or strawberry leaves (we cut open a teabag of strawberry leaves and put them in water)
1 teaspoon of peppermint leaves (from your spicerack)Simply combine the ingredients in a pot and bring to a SLOW boil.. Once it is simmering you remove the pot, place on a table protector (it will be hot) and sit at your kitchen table with your face over the pot and a dry towel draped over your head to ensure you are getting the full benefits of the therapeutic steam. You can sit there until the water stops steaming which is about 15 minutes or so.. ENJOY! Remember to breath deeply and Relax…

Anti-aging Skin Benefits of High Grade Essential Oils: What should I look for in my skincare

Everyone is talking about staying young and healthy and there is an increasing focus on returning to our natural roots through alternative natural sources. Many do this by incorporating natural/ homeopathic medicine and adding mind-body balance(yoga and meditation) in their lives, but how does all this fit with the use of essential oils for your skin?
The Anti-Aging Skin benefits of High Grade Essential oils are almost magical… They work by:….

1) Stimulating faster skin cell turnover ( reducing the time lag between new cell growth and elimination of old ones )……..

2) Strengthening skin and making it stronger and more resilient (this happens over time)……..

3) Preventing the Congestion of Toxins by improving the elimination of waste, ……..

4) Improving lymphatic flow and Circulation which then in turn improves the oxygenation and Energization of the dermis. ……..

5) Balancing the rate of Sebum production/ Skin abnormalities……..

6) Bactericidal Activity to neutralize the presence of unwanted Bacteria on the Skin’s Surface……..

7) Anti-inflammatory to calm Sensitive skin ….

and More……..

Source: Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy (Valerie Ann Worwood)……..

Beyond the benefits to the Skin the selection of a Mood Calming and relaxing Essential Oil such as Lavender,Chamomile, Rosemary, Eucalyptus& Jasmine have powerful de-stressing effects on the mood, such as reducing emotional and mental tension and improving our sense of wellbeing. ……..

Unfortunately…. ….
Very little online literature focuses on the correct use of essential oils, and how a layperson is to choose the right essential oil as key elements in getting the most out of their skincare regime. Part of the problem lies in the fact that there are so many products on the market. But not all are created equal as the quality of the ingredients is directly proportional to the benefits your skin will reap. ….
What you should look for when buying skincare:….
Essential oil blends: these are hybrids containing a mix of pure essential oil and some other oils (corn, vegetable, linseed, avocado etc) to dilute the concentration and purity. Often used in massage oils there is a trend to see this type of blend being added to skincare products which has a further diluting effect theby reducing the impact on your skin. Blends are cheaper and allow companies to make more money on the sale of the products…..
Grade/ Quality of Oil: very few skincare products on the market can back up the use of high grade or high quality pure essential oils. The better the grade the more impactful the oil which will carry a variety of subtle notes, and have more distinct impacts. The grade is impacted by several factors, the most notable being the root flower or herb selected. In high grade Organic Thai Jasmine, as found in New Radiance Green Tea Glo Anti-oxidant cream for example, the Jasmine originates from the Jasminum Sambac flower which has a richer fuller fragrance with high and subtle notes, and is not to be cofused with the Jasminum Grandiflorum or other variety of Jasmine plant that is all over the market. Few people realize that there are dozens of varieties of Jasmine plants on the market and not all are created equal. Another key factor is the process of distillation or oil harvesting. Due to different types of collection techniques, some being harsher through the addition of various chemical extractors, vs others using more subtle temperature derived techniques, there will be a difference in the net Grade of a particular essential Oil. Due to the superior skin impacts of New Radiance products we utilize only the top Grade of essential oils in all our skincare products- including Organic Thai Jasmine. Our Essential Oils are the best quality on the market and we are proud to use them in New Radiance Skincare…..
Do not despair if you have not tried the New Radiance difference yet…….
as fortunately……..
There is Good News for consumers: The type of essential oil found in your skincare product is required by law in Canada in the US to be stated clearly on the product label based on the originating plant. All ingredients must be listed in decreasing order of concentration. Don’t look solely at a products’ price as an indicator of its quality. The market is virtually flooded with overpriced poor quality items that lure their buyers strictly on the perception that more expensive means better quality…. The price fixed buyer never stops to wonder about the quality of the key ingredients and is disappointed in return by the lack of benefits they receive for an overvalued item. ….
New Radiance creates high quality skincare products that cater to a large global audience and we keep our prices affordable so you can enjoy keeping great skin on a regular basis. Now that is something to Glo about! J Check us out at www.newskinradiance.com

Why all the fuss around Spirulina Algae in Skincare anyways?

These days, we spend a lot of time discussing our Hydrating Thai Algae Mask at New Radiance and sometimes its nice to remember why we’re so excited about the stuff anyways…Jam packed with Spirulina Algae a deep sea vegetation found in the Indian Ocean there is reason to be slathing this on our skin on a regular basis, here’s Why….

Vitaminize your Skincare and Charge up the Anti-aging of your Skin

Fall and Winter means cold skin drying weather and often not enough of the fresh fruits and veggies filled with natural vitamins and lycopenes. Besides the fact that 90% of our ingested vitamins don’t make it to the top dermal layers of our skin where aging shows first. What a better time to incorporate full spectrum vitamins in your daily skincare regime. But getting the right vitamins into your body shows on the outside too!. Here are a list of the benefits associated with Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E that can be motivating when it comes to caring for our skin.Skin Fact: Most people don’t realize that much of our Vitamins in our diet
